Preakness Picks: Voters predict Nyquist to carry perfect record into Belmont

Post positions for the 2016 Preakness Stakes were drawn on Wednesday evening at 5:00 pm at Pimlico’s Sports Palace where as expected Nyquist will be one of the 14 runners set to go post ward as the heavy favorite at 3 to 5 on Saturday in the 141st running of the middle leg of the Triple Crown.

Handicapping the race is a lesson in knowing when you should play and when you should stay away as there doesn’t appear to be much upside for bettors who think that Nyquist is a lock. But it doesn’t take an experienced handicapper long to narrow down the field of contenders with more than a quick glance of the past performances looking to make exotic tickets with value.
