Land Over Sea, Go Maggie Go rematch in Black-Eyed Susan

The Black-Eyed Susan Stakes is Pimlico’s equivalent of the Kentucky Oaks and will be run on Friday May, 20 as the 11th race on the eve of the second leg of the Triple Crown.

Post positions have been drawn and a full field of 14 3YO fillies will go postward for the G2 $250,000 Black-Eyed Susan at 1 1/8 miles with Land Over Sea opening as the 2 to 1 morning line favorite.

Land Over Sea is owned and trained by Team Nyquist and is being wheeled right back in two weeks after her second place finish in the G1 Kentucky Oaks behind Cathryn Sophia. Before that she won the G2 Fair Grounds Oaks marking only her second win in nine starts.

Dale Romans sends out the lightly raced Go Maggie Go who will be making the 4th start of her career. Go Maggie Go finished just a 1/4 length behind Land Over Sea in the Oaks and will go as the second choice at 5 to 2 on Friday.

Todd Pletcher will send out Kinsley Kisses off three lifetime. She won her first two and was third in the G3 Beaumont at Keeneland in her last race. All three races were at 7 furlongs and expect her to set the pace in the Black-Eyed Susan. She turned in a bullet 4f work in :48.2 at Saratoga a week ago and is sitting on a big effort.
