‘Dandy’ Day: Odds, Analysis + Free PPs
- Updated: July 27, 2019

Free past performances for Jim Dandy Stakes 2019 on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Saratoga. Courtesy of Brisnet. See last row of table below for Brisnet PPs.
PP | Horse | Trainer | Odds |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Laughing Fox | Asmussen | 15-1 |
Recent races shows how deep he’s been in vs. graded company as he’s been bringing up the rear against the likes of Omaha Beach and War of Will. Started his career here sprinting last summer. Three-time winner at Oaklawn doesn’t leave much to the imagination when trying to scope out a way for him to get home first in here. | |||
2 | Tax | Gargan | 8-1 |
At 8-1 on the open, his chances of getting his third lifetime win here are real cutting back from the Belmont distance. Expect he’ll be forwardly placed and with a chance to steal it off his best of 71 bullet move here last Saturday. Still, hard to see him turning the tables on several in here who have beat him but at Saratoga it happens. SHOT to take them all the way. | |||
3 | Mihos | Jerkins | 15-1 |
Still eligible for NW3 lifetime but that won’t stop him from trying to take this one from start to finish as I expect him to battle it out with Tax on the front-end. Alvarado will be up for the first time on this guy for trainer Jerkins. And when the two team up at Saratoga they are a whopping 43% with a positive ROI of $4.09. Still, breeding tells me he’ll come up short in here. | |||
4 | Global Campaign | Hough | 2-1 |
Three for four and winner of the G3 Peter Pan LTO when he beat the eventual Belmont winner Sir Winston makes him the one to beat in here. Unless you think that the Belmont wasn’t that impressive. Should be close from the start with only Tax to take on turning for home. | |||
5 | Tacitus | Mott | 7-5 |
Beaten favorite in Belmont will get chance to redeem himself for high percentage barn. Best Beyer 97 was his Wood Memorial win over Tax to make it three in a row. Troubled Derby and runner up effort in leg two of the Triple Crown is deserving of favoritism on the cut back. Dam was a G1 winner routing at Saratoga but don’t like that he’ll be farther back in a race without much pace. | |||
6 | War of Will | Casse | 5-2 |
Winner of the Preakness and only runner in the 3YO class of ’19 to compete in all three legs of the Triple Crown. He’ll enjoy the cutback racing from the outside in a smaller field. Connections like his recent morning moves over the Spa soil but can he sit in the catbird seat and be ready to pounce off class alone. Bet the three Belmont runners in here and you should have the winner. | |||
