Gone Nuts Cracks Tapeta

Gone Nuts, winner of a MSW going 5 1/2 on the all weather Tapeta surface at Gulfstream in his last start, will try to make it two in a row in today’s Race of the Day at Gulfstream.
In his last start, the 2-year-old son of Gone Astray who races in the colors of Gary Barber beat a field of eight to earn a field high 77 Beyer speed figure.
Gone Nuts is one of four last out maiden winners in the field of seven and opens as the morning line favorite at 7-5.
Tapeta test for Rayo Colorado
After trying twice to run Rayo Colorado on grass, trainer Jorge Delgado will send out the last out maiden winning son of Karakontie in this 5 furlong dash on Tapeta.
Tenth in his first career start, he was an easy six length winner in a sloppy sprint at this distance last time out beating $25,000 maiden claimers.
Tapeta success for two other last out maiden victors
Last out maiden winner On Jet Heir (10-1) who broke his maiden for $16,000 claiming will take the biggest step up from his last start.
Pure Speight (9-2) earned a field second best Beyer 65 when winning for the first time in his last start against $35,000 maiden claimers.
The rest of the field includes Backatya (15-1), Lucago (8-1), and Run Lea Run (5-1).
