Belmont Stakes 2016 Weather Forecast Says Storms Possible

Exaggerator took advantage of a wet track to win the Preakness three weeks ago after the skies opened up late in the day.

Massive crowds packed the in-field and grandstands for the middle leg of the Triple Crown hoping to see Nyquist make it two in a row and a chance at back-to-back Triple Crowns for only the second time in history.

But it wasn’t meant to be as Exaggerator just so happens to excel on an off-track.

And, guess what.

Belmont Stakes Weather Forecast Could Help Exaggerator, Again

According to accuweather.com there’s rain in the forecast for tomorrow afternoon in Elmont, home of Belmont Park where it will be Exaggerator and his connections hoping to catch another break from the racing gods.

All week long we’ve been following how our fans feel about the upcoming Belmont Stakes and, not surprisingly, with 26% of the vote they have made Suddenbreakingnews the early favorite over Exaggerator who trails by 5 percentage points with a little over 24 hours to go before the head to the post.

By the narrowest of margins, fans of TheFreePPs had Exaggerator on top in the Derby with 18% voting in favor of him, while 17% voted for Nyquist.

To their credit, there was a total of 683 votes cast in the Derby of which the majority went to the first four finishers including the aforementioned top two, along with Gun Runner and Mohaymen who completed the Superfecta for a $1 payout of $542.10.

In the Preakness, it was essentially a two horse race for fans who made Nyquist the favorite with 44% of the total of 227 votes compared to Exaggerator’s 35%. But as we know Cherry Wine, with only 6 votes (2%), split the top two, allowing us to cash our $2 exacta tickets at the tune of $88.40 each.

Why?

Because it rained.
