Free Los Alamitos Futurity Past Performances (2018)

Free DRF Past Performances for the Race of the Day

Free past performances for Saturday’s Los Alamitos Futurity headliner at Los Alamitos.

Improbable, trained by Bob Baffert for Winstar Farm LLC and China Horse Club, will be making his third start of the year for his connections in the G1 $300,000 Los Alamitos Futurity on Saturday.

Improbable has won his only two races going back to September 29 when he broke his maiden at Santa Anita going the 6 furlong distance. He returned with a win in the $100,000 Street Sense at Churchill last month and will be stretching out as he seeks his third win and his first points as a Kentucky Derby contender. He’ll be ridden by regular rider Drayden Van Dyke.

The Los Alamitos Futurity is a race on the Road to the Kentucky Derby and is worth points to the top four finishers by a 10-4-2-1 distribution.

Mucho Gusto is the other Baffert runner in the field of six and is listed at 3-1 on the morning line.

Mucho Gusto broke his maiden at LRC in September in a 6 furlong sprint as the odds on favorite, and returned to take the G3 Bob Hope at Del Mar in his last start. Look for him to be the pacesetter with a chance to take them all away around the track with regular rider Joe Talamo who is quickly becoming a good-to jock for Baffert.

Two runners that exit Breeders’ Cup races include Dueling who finished sixteen lengths behind Game Winner who currently leads the early contenders for the 2019 Kentucky Derby as the favorite in Pool 1 of future wagering. King of Speed who won back-to-back races in his previous two starts on turf before a twelfth place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf last time out. Kent Desormeaux replaces the legendary jockey and now retired Gary Stevens for trainer Jeff Bonde. King of Speed started his career on dirt with little success and will need to show he belongs on the Derby trail.
