Audible will make his way back to the track as the 2-5 favorite off a winning effort last month at Churchill going 7 furlongs. Before that, he was third behind Triple Crown winner Justify in the Kentucky Derby.

A New York bred, Audible took the G1 Florida Derby and the G2 Holy Bull in his only two starts at Gulfstream this past Spring for Pletcher. He will be joined by stablemate Village King in the field of six.

Searching for Angles

If you’re searching for a hero, you’re probably not going to find him (or her) in here.

But there is one angle you can consider:

Minute Madness

Equipment changes are a favorite angle of handicappers, especially when they prove successful. In thirty-two priors starts Minute Madness had won three times at Gulfstream. He was claimed two back and sent out by his new connections wearing blinkers for the first time ever to win his last start by eight a month ago.

However, there are a couple of caveats.

Minute Madness has never faced a G1 winner. And impressive as it seems, the running line in the past performances for his last win has an important distinction, namely, the glaring “W” appended to the track designation of “GP.” There’s a huge difference in the level of competition that remains at “GPW” or Gulfstream Park West after all the big name stables depart at the conclusion of the Spring meet each year at GP.
