Delta Downs Jackpot $1 million
- Pat On the Back – New York bred gets new rider in homeboy Albarado, off his best race win in the Sleepy Hollow over a sloppy Belmont surface. Adds distance for what will be his first crack at open company. 15 to 1.
- Line Judge – Took the Jean Lafitte Stakes on the lead here a month ago with local rider McMahon who gets the call again. Will be sent from the start around a track that favors front runners with class, but will have company on the front-end today. 6 to 1.
- Thirstforlife – One of two for Casse. Took a NW1X last time out at Keeneland going the distance after two unsuccessful graded tries in prior two starts. Gets regular rider Geroux. 8 to 1.
- Our Stormin Norman – The other Casse runner who broke maiden last time out going 7/8’s with the addition of blinkers. Tried the lawn to no avail in three prior starts. Has the right style for this track and like his chances — even if he just broke his maiden. 8 to 1.
- Dangerfield – Broke maiden last time out vs. winners at the Oak Tree at Pleasonton meet which produced next out winner Aqua Frio. 12 to 1.
- Gunnevera – Favorite after finishing 5th last time out to Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Classic empire two weeks ago. Took the G2 Saratoga Special two back with Castellano who will be back aboard. Running style not favorable for this trip and he will have to improve dramatically to win this off the pace. 5 to 2.
- Balandeen – Second in the Street Sense last time out at Churchill when stretching out for the first time. Took two previous starts including 5 1/2 maiden score and an OCNW2L. 10 to 1.
- Hot Sean – Baffert takes a crack at the Jackpot with this two time winning son of Flatter looking to improve his Beyer’s after three consecutive 87’s. Has the style to keep the pace honest. Second choice at 7 to 2.
- J Boys Echo – Looks like he’s going to have a bright future after an easy maiden win at this distance last time out at Keeneland for Romans. Gets new rider in Desormeaux who took this race last year with Exaggerator. Like his chances at 8 to 1.
- Tip Tap Tapizar – Asmussen and Melancon team up again after winning this race with Saber Cat in the 2011 running. Was second in the Jean Lafitte behind front running winner Line Judge. A race over the track is always a good thing but will find it hard to take this one home. 10 to 1.
