Beholder in the Breeders’ Cup Classic
The last time an older female horse ran in the Classic was in 2010 when Zenyatta finished second to Blame at Churchill Downs losing by the narrowest of margins. In 2009 Zenyatta won the Breeders’ Cup Classic run at Santa Anita making her the first female runner to win America’s richest horse race.
