Santa Anita Cancels Races, Refunds Exotic Wagers
REFUNDS & ADJUSTED PAYOUTS GIVEN ON ALL EXOTIC WAGERS INVOLVING RACES 7, 8 & 9
Heavy rains forced the cancellation of the remainder of the card at Santa Anita on the eve of the G1 $1 million Santa Anita Handicap.
Racing officials had no choice but to cancel racing after an inch of rain had fallen on the track as a line of thunderstorms rolled in off the Pacific coast.
Bettors were able to wager on the first six races of the Friday card but Late Pick Four, the PIck Six, and rolling Pick 3’s that involved races 7, 8, and 9 were refunded.
Daily Double players who had the winner of the sixth race were guaranteed to hit the Double because all runners used in race 7 completed the ticket.
Pick Three wagers involving races 5, 6 & 7, will be paid out to those tickets with the winners of races 5 & 6, and all runners in race 7.
The rain is expected to move out of the Los Angeles area overnight and fans can expect to enjoy a full 11 race card on Saturday.
