Nyquist makes it look easy in Florida Derby

Nyquist Favorite to win Kentucky Derby
Undefeated in 7 lifetime starts Nyquist and jockey Mario Gutierrez will head into Louisville as the favorites to win the 2016 running of the Kentucky Derby on May 7.
The 3YO son of Uncle Mo covered the 1 1/8 mile distance in a final time of 1:49.11 for owner Reddam Racing LLC and trainer Doug O’Neil who campaigned the 2012 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner I’ll Have Another before a career ending injury was discovered the morning of the Belmont.
The fractional running times over the Gulfstream Park track that showed visible signs of moisture was 23.60 for the 1/4 mile, 47.09 for the 1/2 mile. Nyquist ran 3/4 in 1:11.39 and passed the 1/8 pole in 1:36.38 over the good track.
