Danzing Candy Earns 50 Points towards Derby
Danzing Candy, a 3YO son of Twirling Candy, was bred in Kentucky by Halo Farms Bashor or Bashor. The victory gives him three easy wins in a row for trainer Clifford Sise and jockey Mike Smith, and 50 points towards a start in Louisville as they set their sites on the Kentucky Derby in May.
The final time was 1:43.04 for the 1 1/16 mile distance. The winner paid $13.00 to win, $5.20 to place, and $3.40 to show. Fractional times for the San Felipe were :224 :46 1:11 1:361 1:43.
In a post race interview Sise said he’ll be pointed to the Santa Anita Derby for his next start.
