The Horse Racing Nation’s “probables” page is helpful for handicappers looking to get a jump on this weekend’s stakes action at Gulfstream Park where the featured  $1 million Xpressbet Florida Derby (G1) will be run at 1 1/8 miles on Saturday, March 31.

The Florida Derby is the last stop in the Sunshine State for horses looking to capitalize on the 100-40-20-10 point distribution awarded to the top four finishers. And an opportunity to run in the Kentucky Derby on May 5.

Always Dreaming, winner of the 2017 Florida Derby, went on to claim his place in the record book as the winner of the 2017 Kentucky Derby in his next start for trainer Todd Pletcher.

Audible, the winner of his last three starts including the G2 Holy Bull on February 3 at Gulfstream, is probable to make his next start in the Florida Derby on Saturday for Pletcher who is hoping to add Audible to his previous two Kentucky Derby winners Super Saver (2010) and Always Dreaming (2017).

The field for the 67th running of the Florida Derby will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27.
