Honor Code Takes 2015 Whitney

Honor Code takes the 2015 Whitney Stakes running down Liam’s Map in the final jump.

Liam’s Map set the grueling early fractions of 22.79, 46:00, and 109:72 for 6 furlongs and had a 5 length lead at the 1/8 pole.

At the top of the stretch Honor Code was set down to run and reached the wire in 1:47.82 to get the win.

Tonalist was third and Wicked Strong was fourth.

Prior to the Whitney victory, Honor Code finished fifth in the Grade 2 Alysheba at Churchill, his only other two-turn race this year.

He earned a 113 Beyer in the Whitney, the highest of his career, and will likely be pointed to the Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont as he preps for the Breeders’ Cup Classic in October at Keeneland.

The Whitney was a Breeders’ Cup Challenge Race which gives Honor Code an automatic entry into the Classic and will likely face Triple Crown winner American Pharoah later in the year.
