The other three European runners in the field for the Arlington Million have been racing in France, Ireland and Great Britain.
Bookrunner, the lightly raced but well bred son of Tiznow is out of a graded-stakes winning mare and is the son of former Million victor Chester House, is based in France. He’s a three time winner trained by MIkel Delzangles and will need to improve on his recent performances to have a shot at carrying his grand-sires success into the winner’s circle.
Elleval is the Irish based runner who sports a few decent efforts including a second place finish in a Group 3 event at Leopardstown on July 16. He’ll have the services of Patrick Smullen who’s no stranger to American racing and Arlington Park having twice won the American Derby (G2) aboard Evolving Tactics in 2003 and Simple Exchange in 2004. Elleval will break from post 12 and is listed at 30-1.
Belgian Bill is owned and trained by George Baker. Belgian Bill exits a second place finish in the Goodwood Mile and will break from post 13. Jamie Spencer, who won the 2009 running of the Arlington Million aboard Cape Blanco, will be in the irons aboard Belgian Bill who is also listed at 30-1.
