G1 Personal Ensign Stakes serves as Shuvee Handicap Rematch

Three of the six horses who will face off in the G1 Personal Ensign on Saturday at Saratoga ran one, two, three in the G3 Shuvee Handicap in the last start.

Stopchargingmaria, trained by Todd Pletcher for Town And Country Farms Corp, finished a length in front of favorite Untapable in the Shuvee. It was another 2 1/2 lengths back to third place finisher Tiz Windy who returns on Saturday for another crack at the top two finishers.

The Shuvee was Stopchargingmaria’s second win in a row in G3 company, and it was the first time Untapable dropped into lesser company after competing in G1 and G2 races for most of her career.

The top two from the Shuvee should be considered the ones to beat on Saturday but one interesting note is the G1 finish by Sheer Drama in the Delaware Handicap in her last.

Sheer Drama will cut back from the 1 1/4 mile distance of her last race and has a win and a second in two starts at Saratoga.

Personal Ensign past performances.
