1 Echo Zulu 8-5
Was a ‘BIGLY’ fan of Gun Runner when he was on the track. But now that his racing days are over, his grit lives on in his offspring. Used ‘automatic transmission to swith leads at the top of the stretch in the Frizette and drew off with acceleration. Undefeated in 3 career starts, and winner of two G1s, this filly should make two turns look easy when she’s sent West to take on the locals.
Juju’s Map 5-2
Two-turn winner last time in the Darley Alcibiades. Stalked the longshot pacesetter through six furlongs. Took over before the top of the stretch and kept on going. But the time was slow and will be making only her 4th start against an undefeated rival.
Ain’t Easy 9-2
Easy winner on debut at Del Mar where she’ll return to try to make it 3 in a row. Made fools of the field in the Chandelier going two-turns in her final preparation for this. It was just a nice stroll at a steady pace. Home field advantage is always worth serious consideration even against seemingly superior shippers like Zulu.
Hidden Connection 6-1
Two starts, two wins for daughter of Connect who defeated Gun Runner in the Pennsylvania Derby in 2016. How much experience is enough to win this? Followed her debut win at Colonial with a two-turn victory in the G3 Pocahontas. Watch her final work times. Playable, especially if she shows an affinity for Del Mar.
Averly Jane 7-1
Winner of the Indian Summer at Keeneland to make it 4 in a row, she’s eligible for this but her card, if she wishes to play it, has been dealt for the Juvenile Turf Sprint. The speedy daughter of Midshipman ran a large field of talented 2YOs off their feet over the Keeneland turf course after showing an affinity for soft surfaces in the Kentucky Juvenile Stakes in April. Listed for this, but she’s more likely to find herself in the winner’s circle after the Juvenile Turf Sprint.
Grace Adler 10-1
Debut and next out were winning efforts from off the pace at Del Mar for Baffert. Toss the two turn try last time out in the softly run Chandelier. She’ll need targets in front of her and a faster pace to circle for the win. But the two victories at home makes her a pricey player.
Tarabi 16-1
A month after her debut win at Ellis, this miss turns in a very classy runner-up performance behind Echo Zulu in the G1 Spinaway. She’ll have to go two turns this time, but so will ‘Zulu’. The 2021 BC Juvenile Fillies will be a small but talented field of tomorrows stars.
