Malibu Stakes features two sons of Tapit

The day after Christmas Santa Anita will close out the 2021 calendar year with a bevy of graded stakes races on their Sunday opening day card.
All eyes will be on Hronis Racing LLC and Summer Wind Equine stables undefeated Flightline in today’s Malibu Stakes.
The product of Tapit from the Indian Charlie mare Feathered, who scored her biggest win in the G3 Edgewood on turf at Churchill, opens as the 4-5 favorite in the field.
Baffert Knows How To Win the Malibu
Triple Tap (5-1) is undefeated in two starts for Baffert.
He was an easy winner in his first race, a maiden special weight going 7 furlongs here in March. He only beat three others that day, but returned to take his next start at Del Mar with an improving 97 Beyer.
Since then he’s sitting on multiple bullet works in the morning and Baffert has won this race two of the past three years.
Post time for the Malibu Stakes is scheduled for 6:49 PM ET and will go as race 10 on the opening day card at Santa Anita.
