Kentucky Derby 2016 Prep Schedule and Results

The Road To The Kentucky Derby which will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky is open for business.

This will be the 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby. A Grade I dirt race for three-year-old colts and geldings run at 1 1/4 miles for a purse of $2,000,000.

The Kentucky Derby starting gate is limited to twenty contenders who have each earned points to be able to enter the starting gate for the world’s most famous horse race.
